The W0KIE Radio Page
W0KIE (pronounced Wookie but is actually ham call W 'zero' KIE) Radio is a strange collection of characters that have fun playing radio. Most of their program hosts are hams. The W0KIE network's programming is often related to ham radio but you are likely to hear almost anything on it. Most of their programming is totally informal. They boast being “HDTV Radio, just like real life but better resolution” and “Radio so exclusive you can't find it on your dial.”
The program hosts sometimes interact with listeners during live broadcasts via telephone and/or the IRC text based chat room.
You can hear the very latest, up to the minute amateur radio related news on a one hour broadcast of This Week In Amateur Radio Saturday evenings at 18:00 Pacific time. The program is repeated on Tuesdays at 16:00 Pacific time with additional segments not aired on Saturday's broadcast.
You will hear other news and techie type programming at other times. Often you will hear music, talk, bizarre humor, old time radio shows, no telling what. No guarantees. Check the program schedule to see what is on when.
W0KIE can be heard on C band satellite on GE/AMC-7 transponder 5, 7.5 Wide Band Audio* or 4DTV on W7 channel 973*. Or you can click on one of the W0KIE logo's below to listen via the internet now.
